Wakulla Springs is home to one of the world's largest and deepest freshwater springs. Wakulla Springs State Park offers a swim area, gift shop with ice cream and milkshakes, or visit them in the afternoon and take a boat tour of the springs, then grab dinner at the Edward Ball Dining Room. On the boat tours you can see several native species of wildlife. Alligators sitting on the river banks watching for the next catch to come by, whitetail deer, manatees cruising up and down the river, otters, ducks, blue herons, egrets and so much more. Wakulla River is one of the local hot spots, in the Summer and early Fall you see the river will be packed with boats heading to the sandbars to cool off in the Spring fed clear river.
